Let’s give these bees their colors back
A few friendly honey bees are buzzing around the garden, and something is missing. Each bee needs its colorful tummy piece back! Match the Color: Honey Bee Version invites your child to look closely, choose a color, and help a bee feel complete again. It’s a simple idea with plenty to notice: fluttering wings, cheerful faces, bright colors, and a little celebration after each match.
How to play
Your child can tap a color piece and then tap the matching bee, or drag the piece onto the bee themselves. Both ways work, so let them choose whichever feels comfortable. The game begins with two bees at a time. Later rounds bring in four, giving your child more colors to compare without changing the basic task.
There are five rounds, fourteen matches, and nine colors to discover. A correct match comes with a spoken color name, helping your child connect the color they see with the word they hear. A different choice is simply a chance to look again. Stay nearby, offer a gentle clue if it’s needed, and give them time to find their own answer.
Enjoy the little discoveries together
You don’t need to turn every match into a question. Sometimes it’s enough to watch, smile, and repeat a color name together. If your child wants more of a challenge, try asking, “Can you find the bee that matches this piece?” You can also name two colors and talk about how they look different.
When the game is over, look for those colors around you. A yellow cup, a purple crayon, or a green plant can keep the conversation going. You might even draw a bee together and let your child choose its colors. The picture doesn’t have to look like the game; making choices is part of the fun.
Keep the session as short or as long as your child enjoys. Pause for a break, turn the sound down, or come back another day. There’s no race to finish. The best part is watching a small discovery become something your child feels proud of.
